On Thursday 27th October 2022, I was in attendance at the Emirates stadium along with over 5,000 fellow gooners to witness the dazzling Arsenal Women dismantle a solid FC Zürich side 3-1 in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

It was a professional, yet beautiful display from the gunners who patrolled the Emirates carpet with intent, claiming 72% of possession. Goals came from a brace by the brilliant Lina Hurtig, claiming victory in a 50/50 header and a composed strikers finish as goalkeeper R. Grzondziel spilt the ball from a cross, leaving Hurtig a gift in front of the goal. Lioness and Player Of The Match, Jordan Nobbs also was on the scoresheet with an audacious volley-struck with skill, oozing in flair as our number 8 bruised the bar, launching the ball down and over the line.

The quality of football was of the highest standard which may explain why the Arsenal Ladies sit so comfortably on top of the WSL. Being the first women's game I had ever watched live, it took me aback in all honesty. I loved it. Just like in the mens game, flags were distributed around the ground so us gooners could wave our colours with pride, creating the classic arsenal aesthetic the Emirates stadium knows and loves.

chants, celebrations, music, over-priced food, passion and elegant football to sum it up in a few words. All around the stadium, fans were on fire, a burning passion in their stomachs, with an urge to show support for the arsenal stars who put on a lovely display. The ground was full of smiles and memories were born which last a lifetime. It's no secret that another beauty of the womens game is that it offers fans (who may not usually get the opportunity) a chance to visit the stadium they adore and get behind the club they love.
