Harlequins number eight James Chisholm is determined to cap off an unforgettable summer by adding the Premiership Rugby Sevens title to the Junior World Championships trophy he won earlier this year - and he insists that his side have the players to do it, writes Sacha Clayton.

"I don't see any reason why we can't win it as long as we work hard and play as a team," he said.

The 18-year-old was part of the team that retained their JWC crown in thrilling fashion as they narrowly overcame 2012 champions South Africa by a score of 21-20 in Auckland.

Having proven himself on the international stage, the talented teenager is now desperate to add to his bulging trophy cabinet as Quins come up against Saracens, Wasps and Northampton Saints at Franklin's Gardens on Friday night.

And he believes that with the likes of Charlie Walker, Ollie Lindsay-Hague and Henry Cheeseman in the Harlequins side, they have as good a chance as anyone to win.

"I'd love to pick up another piece of silverware by winning the Premiership Rugby Sevens, but I know that it's going to be a competitive tournament and lots of good players and teams will be looking to do the same thing," said Chisholm, who plays alongside his brother Ross at Quins.

"The Junior World Championships was a fantastic tournament, a really great month and to actually get my hands on the trophy at the end of it all was an amazing feeling.

"I'm definitely hoping to carry my form from that into the Premiership Rugby 7s tournament. I don't see any reason why we can't win it as long as we work hard and play as a team then I think we have a good chance.

"The team have been training well and everyone is desperate to get in the side and is hungry to win. Last year the atmosphere at Allianz Park was unbelievable and I can't wait to experience that again.

"Charlie, Ollie and Henry are all going to be big players in this team and I'm looking forward to playing alongside them. I think those guys are good enough to win us the tournament."

For Chisholm the tournament could prove to be more than an opportunity for silverware as he continues to push for a place in the Quins first team.

He was used sparingly by director of rugby Conor O'Shea last season but the Guildford-born back is hoping that he can fight his way into the side this term.

"I want to play regularly in the Premiership and in Europe and this tournament is a real chance for me to show what I can do," he added.

"I want to prove myself to the coach. There's going to be loads of skilful players on show and I'm looking forward to the challenge but I want to play to my best.

"We've got a really strong back-row at Quins but I'm hoping that I can squeeze in. If I can do the basics well then hopefully I can give the coach some tough decision to make."
