A “perverse” predator who exposed himself to women and girls as young as 12 in Stamford Hill has been jailed.

Mohammed Amin, of Sparsholt Road, Stroud Green, committed a string of sexual offences against four Jewish women and girls over a three-month period in 2021.

The 28-year-old was stopped by police after one of his victims came forward in March that year and said a man had exposed himself to her in Stamford Hill.

Local people spotted Amin from his description later that night, with officers arriving within minutes.

Using CCTV footage, police were able to determine that the 28-year-old had used hire bikes to carry out his crimes.

Amin’s bank records, hire bike account records, GPS mapping and phone data all helped officers place him at the scene of the offences. His youngest victim was aged 12.

The 28-year-old was ultimately found guilty of sexual assault, causing a child aged 13 to 15 to watch sexual activity, exposure and attempted exposure at Wood Green Crown Court in March.

Amin appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday (May 10), where he was jailed for two years and ten months.

Detective Constable Patrick Godin, who led the investigation said: “Today’s sentence demonstrates how seriously we take incidents of this nature.

“Our local team are committed to pursuing predators who threaten the safety of women and girls in their own neighbourhood.

“We did everything we could to take this perverse individual off the streets of Stamford Hill and were supported throughout by the local Shomrim.

“I’d like to thank the Shomrim for their continued help during this case – they were able to use their knowledge of the area to help us quickly identify Amin and provided vital guidance and advice.”
