DIY chain B&Q says it will be closing an Edmonton store after an “intensive review”.
The firm has announced it is ditching its partnership with Asda, closing eight B&Q shops found inside its supermarkets across the UK.
This will affect the Edmonton branch, located inside the Asda in West Mall, Edmonton.
Elsewhere in London, the Dagenham branch will also shut.
Shops will begin to close from March 11, with 57 staff expected to be affected.
All staff will be offered alternative employment at other branches near the area.
Strategy director Chris Bargate said that focus is now shifting on smaller high street stores called B&Q Locals.
Shops in Palmers Green and Camden opened up on January 27, and were the first to adopt the B&Q Local name.
Another small B&Q high street branch also recently opened in Harrow Town Centre.
