IT was splashing news all round as Hillingdon Swimming Club saw medals and PB’s aplenty at the recent British Summer Championships and ASA National Championships.

Hillingdon Swimming Club clocked 12 top ten places at the British Summer Championships with 11 personal best times between them.

Ceara Barber secured gold in the 13/14years 50m backstroke after winning the silver medal in the 13/14yearrs 100m Backstroke just 1/100th of a second behind the winner earlier in the week.

Jemima Hall and Loulou Vos both achieved huge best times in their two main events and placed sixth and seventh in tough age groups.  

Leon Berchie and Luke Spain proved that they've still got it, making the senior finals in their respective individuals and had great swims within the relay team.

The ASA National Championships proved to be yet another great week of competition for the club.

Niamh Barber qualified for her first two national finals in the 12/13years age group for 200m freestyle where she finished sixth with a huge personal best — and then went on to finish her week with a gold medal in the 100m freestyle with another huge PB.

Just moments later, older sister Ceara also secured gold in the 100m freestyle winning the 14 years age group in a personal best time.

Sean-Patrick McGowan qualified for his first ever national final in the 100m freestyle in the 13/14years age group with a personal best time finishing in ninth place.
