Wireless Festival provided an eventful weekend at London’s Finsbury Park – but the music isn’t the main topic of conversation afterwards.

On the first day on Friday gatecrashers stormed the event while rapper Lethal Bizzle was performing.

A crowd of people were filmed forcing their way in as security tried to keep the doors shut.

Organisers described this as an “isolated incident” – but it wasn’t, with another mob caught on camera trying to break in on Saturday night.

People were seen trying to smash down fences, before scaling them.

There were then ugly confrontations as a police officer and security guards tried to control the chaos.

There was no such crowd trouble reported on the final day of the festival yesterday, but there was still more controversy when American rapper and hip hop star Nicki Minaj missed her supporting slot.

"Travel issues" were blamed for her not showing up to perform at 7pm ahead of headliner David Guetta.

To cause further embarrassment, organisers lost touch with her at one point. A message flashed up at the event which read: "Special announcement: we are told that she was due to be speeding down the M1 from Luton Airport as we speak but we have lost contact with her, we are hoping that she will be here soon."

The Starships singer finally made it on stage to perform one song with Guetta.

Highways England reported heavy congestion between junctions nine and eight in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, close to Luton Airport, following a car fire.

Ticket-holders at the weekend festival booed when the star failed to start her highly-anticipated set.

Drake and Jessie J were among other performers during the three-day festival – but this time it looks like the stars have had to play second fiddle to other things going on.
