A BMW driver has been jailed after his careless driving killed a cyclist as he rode to a nearby JobCentre.
Samer Nayeb, 23, evaded police for five months after he crashed into Leon Richards in Clapham Manor Street more than a year ago.
Mr Richards, 26, of South Lambeth, was rushed to King's College Hospital but died of a head injury in the intensive care unit on April 5, 2014, the day after the crash.
Nayeb admitted causing his death last month at Croydon Crown Court.
He also pleaded guilty to three counts of perverting the cause of justice, failing to stop after the crash, and fraudulently obtaining insurance.
Yesterday he was jailed for three years and four months, and also banned from the road for four years.
