A man found dead at his home had suffered financial difficulties in the year leading up to his death, an inquest heard.

Vuyani Njoli Ntsikelelo Tsele, 59, of Gloucester Road, Tottenham, was found suffocated at his home on Saturday January 31.

An inquest at North London Coroners Court heard yesterday that Mr Tsele was discovered by his bedside in the home he shared with his partner.

When his phone records were checked there was nothing to indicate he intended to end his life.

Mr Tsele lost his IT consultancy job in 2014 and had encountered increasing problems with money.

He asked his step-daughter to borrow money last year and Coroner Andrew Walker said this was believed to have “deeply affected” his pride.

Mr Walker said: “I can be satisfied so I am sure that in these circumstances a person taking these actions would know that this would result in his death.”

The coroner delivered a conclusion of death by suicide to an empty courtroom.
