A primary school has issued a warning to parents after two suspicious incidents in the space of 24 hours.

According to various reports on social media, Chase Lane Primary School in York Road sent a group text message yesterday warning of the incidents relating to another school.

The message read: ''A year 6 child was approached by a man on his own on the way to school, and a mum and her reception child have been followed by a white van with two men inside it.

'The children have been spoken to about ‘stranger danger’. Please reinforce this message at home. Thank you.'

A parent has also reported seeing a white van acting suspiciously and slowing down near her on two occasions as she was taking her young daughter to Larkswood Primary School in New Road, Chingford.

Parents at Larkswood Primary were also sent a text message yesterday informing them an alleyway entrance to the school from Templeton Avenue will be permanently closed from today for 'safeguarding reasons'.

Parents in nearby Enfield were warned to be on their guard after a man and a woman in a white transit van attempted to abduct two girls aged 11 and 16 on October 13 in Southbury Road.

Police and the schools involved have been approached for comment.
