The former E17 singer Brian Harvey was spotted yesterday arriving at the gates of Downing Street and demanding to speak to Prime Minister David Cameron. 

Pictures of the incident appeared on Twitter, with Harvey confronting a police officer holding a ring binder.

Witnesses took to social media to describe the incident.

@daihillson5 tweeted: #brianharvey currently kicking off outside Downing St saying he "wants to see the Prime Minister" 

In another tweet by the same user, said: "He was shouting that the binder was 'evidence' of how much money had been stolen from him"

Using the account @mizzlecrizzle, Matthew Crow posted: "URGENT: Brian Harvey currently outside of Downing Street with a ring binder demanding to see the prime minister"  

A spokesman for the Met Police confirmed there was a "minor distrurbance" outside the gates and no arrests were made. 

East 17 sold 18million records worldwide and their debut album Walthamstow, sold 1.8million copies in the UK during the height of the band’s fame in the nineties.
