The decision on whether the current Twickenham station redevelopment plans should be quashed will be announced tomorrow.

Twickenham Residents Action Group (Trag), chaired by John Watson, will find out if their final chance to overturn the strongly opposed proposal will be granted by appeal judges at 9.50am on Wednesday, May 15.

Mr Watson said: "There will be no discussion or debate; just the simple release of their judgment in written form.”

The Court of Appeal judges heard, on April 30, that suggestions on the station made by an advisory panel for the Twickenham regeneration plans were not taken into consideration.

The Twickenham Advisory Panel (Tap) was set up by Richmond Concil leader Lord True and members believed part of their responsibility was to scrutinise the Twickenham station plans from Solum Regeneration.

However, it was revealed in a Freedom of Information request by members of Trag that Tap members were deterred from speaking on behalf of Tap at the station’s planning meeting on December 19, 2011.

The assistant director for property, parks and sustainability for the council, Ishbel Murray told panel members in an email on December 14: “If any member of Tap wishes to speak at the committee it would be so within their own personal capacity and interest and not as a member of Tap.

"I would further comment that if any member does speak, it may be that their position as a member is reviewed given potential conflict between personal and Tap-based interests.”
